Changing the region gives you access to apps unavailable in your country. The process takes no more than five minutes.

Before changing the region:

• Spend your Apple ID balance: If even 1 cent remains in the account, it will prevent you from changing the region. Spend the remaining balance or contact Apple Support and ask them to zero it out.
• Cancel all subscriptions: as long as there is at least one, you will not be able to change the country. To do this, open the Settings app, tap your name, and go to the Subscriptions section. Go through all active, trial, and even inactive subscriptions one by one and disable them.
• Turn off Family Sharing, if it is enabled. If you are a member of a group, only you will leave it; if you are the organizer, remove all members.
  Important: if your group has children under 13, you need to move them to another family group. Without this, the organizer will not be able to leave and delete the Family.

Once you have done everything, you can proceed to changing the region. If you encounter any issues, you can use an alternative method — creating an additional App Store account.

Step-by-step guide to changing the region

1. Open the Settings app and tap your name at the top of the screen. Confirm login with your password or Face ID.
2. Go to the Media & Purchases section.
3. Go to the Country/Region section.

4. Select a new region, for example Kazakhstan, and on the next two screens accept the terms of service.

5. Enter your details:

• Payment method None, if you have no local bank cards.
• Enter the billing address. Or use our template:
  • Street: Almaty
  • City/Town: Almaty
  • Region: Almaty
  • Postcode: 050000
  • Phone: 999 9999999

6. Tap Done in the top right corner.

After changing the region, the App Store will display content from the new region, allowing you to download apps and games that are unavailable in the Russian App Store.
