Kill Switch blocks all internet traffic on your device the moment the VPN tunnel drops. Without it, applications may briefly send traffic over your real IP between the moment the VPN drops and the moment it reconnects.
How to enable
- Open the Kryon app
- Go to Settings → Kill Switch
- Toggle it on
The setting is off by default. Once enabled, it persists across app launches.
What to expect when Kill Switch fires
When the VPN drops with Kill Switch on:
- All apps lose internet access
- Browsers show "no internet" / "could not connect"
- The Kryon app shows the VPN as disconnected
Connectivity returns when you reconnect the VPN. This is the intended behavior — losing internet is the price of guaranteed leak protection.
When to use Kill Switch
Enable Kill Switch if your use case requires zero leak risk — for example, journalism, sensitive accounts, or restrictive regions where any traffic outside the tunnel could be a problem. For everyday browsing, leaving it off is acceptable, since VPN disconnections are uncommon.
